Hi all, I don't normally do this so I hope all are okay with it. As many of you I'm sure are aware, there was a huge mill bust in West Virginia a couple of weeks ago where more than 900 dogs were released by their owners in lieu of charges being filed against them. It was a massive undertaking and several of my fellow Crest-Care members in the area worked tirelessly in helping to get these dogs to safe places. The majority of those dogs were dachshunds(sp?), however, there were quite a few Chinese Cresteds as well. Crest-Care has taken in about a dozen of those dogs. Thankfully, considering how these kids lived they were in reasonably good health, but they all required vetting which we all no is not inexpensive, even with the help of some WONDERFUL veterinary clinics reducing fees for us. Because of this, I am reaching out to my fellow Crestie lovers in the hopes that some of you might be able to spare even $5 to sponsor one or more of these beautiful dogs. Sadly, we've been seeing a great influx in Cresties in need most likely as a direct result of today's crappy economy.
