My puff has had allergy type issues since the end of last summer. She was put on a round of steroids that really helped clear things up in Aug of last year. I changed her food and have kept her on a wheat/corn/gluton/beef free diet for over a year now (she is on Royal Canin skin sensitivity). She also had hydroxyzine (antihistamine) over the summer. I also give her regular baths (every week) with Canadian Medicated Shampoo. Two days ago she had a big flair up. Scratching her neck/side of her face/lip raw...to the point of bleeding. I have an appointment with the vet tomorrow morning. I am assuming we will be doing another round of steroids (which I am not looking forward to as she gained weight with the last round and I just finally got the weight off). Is there anything else that I could be doing for her? Has anyone else had skin issues with their puff? Any and all suggestions are appreciated :)
