I am taking care of my mother's puppy (powder puff) both of us need as much information as possible about this breed because we love her. She appears to be the terrier coated type of powder puff (which I did not know was a category)when groomed it is as if she has baby powder on her skin. I received her from a friend who had a litter of 8 with both parents on the premises but I do not think she knows that much about the breed. My vet states she is not that familiar with the breed but we will learn together. At five months 4/29/09 I had her spayed. She is recovering but she does something I have never seen a dog do before--she 1) goes on strike (will not move), and 2) she periodically twitches or spasms (this behaviour only after surgery--my vet thinks thisis a pain reaction and had me give her pain meds in 8 hrs instead of 12 hrs. Has anyone else had this experience? Ihave found out about some of the quirks of this breed, such as, longer nail quicks, above average body temp, odor of baby powder, smart as a tack, very obedient but what else is so different about this breed? She is about 8 inches tall, 7lbs.3oz., folded ears (attempted taping but did not work out-irritated ears)Most concerned about having knowledge about health issues-my vet states she is healthy but what should I look for as she matures (no genetic history)Her baby teeth are falling out -vet says teeth are great I noticed her feet which are different but similar to my min pin (my min pin is 10 yrs old and a rescue-also in great health for her age-this pup gave her a new lease on life!made her more active) anything else you can share with me?
