First I'm sorry for your loss and so glad you found a new companion. You will find no one here who advocates crossbreeding of any dogs, but especially crossbreeding cresteds with other breeds. Introducing the hairless gene into other breeds is totally irresponsible. Further, the only "breeders" who do intentionally mix breeds are ones people should steer clear of. They do no health testing on their breeding stock, they have no idea what genetic problems exist in the pedigree lines, they will give little to no health guarantee on the dogs they produce, and are merely breeding dogs to line their pockets with unsuspecting buyers' money. Many of these mixed breeds are bred by puppymillers and the conditions the breeding stock must endure are more than horrendous. They are seen merely as uteruses and testicles...they are not given names, they are rarely given any vet care, are kept in tiny cramped cages 24/7 stacked one on top the other and covered with urine & feces. The only human contact they get (if they're lucky) is someone tossing in food once a day. And worse, generally these "breeders" charge totally outrageous prices for their mixed breed mutts who produce dogs with questionable temperaments & genetic background ...don't buy into this whole "designer dog" crap...they are simply mutts, and if you monitor petfinder.com or shelters/rescues in your area, the odds are high you'll find exactly what you're looking for. No responsible, ethical & moral breeder will ever mix breeds.
This is a very heated & emotional subject for those of us who love not only the Chinese Crested breed, but all dogs in general.
I am assuming from your post that your CC is a powderpuff. Do you know positively that your dog is a mix? Puffs, when left unshaven, can have the full facial hair, etc. and are quite often mistaken for a terrier mix.
If you go to our website, www.crest-care.com, and click on the page "Crested Examples" then into "Powderpuffs" I believe we have some examples of full-faced cresteds.
