 With a true staph infection, there will be raised pimple like areas that have pustules and/or ooze. The only way to truly diagnose staph is to examine the contents of one of the pustules or do a skin scrape. If it is truly staph, a 2 week course rarely kills the infection, the dog should be placed on a minimum of a 4 week course of Simplicef.

What you're describing does not sound like staph to me, it sounds more like a contact dermatitus problem. Does it itch?
