Ok, to make a long story short, my mom made the mistake of getting a puppy Xmas eve, and being unable to handle its needs. By Xmas morning, the puppy came back with my sister and was landed in my care.

I own two Border Collies, I volunteer for BC rescue when I can by rehoming and transporting dogs, I work at a doggy daycare/adoption center. This also just seems to be how I got all my pets as a child...mom or sis would pick it up 'cause its cute, and I would be left caring for it's needs when they tired of it. My BCs are both rescues, not from my family, but from other situations. My life revolves around my pets, dogs, reptiles, and cat included.

Ok, enough background. This puppy, she's a hairy hairless. My mom mistook my offer to help in any way I can as a declaration that I would take it if things didn't work out and 'get her money back' somehow. Before I knew what was happening, my mom informed me the puppy was on the plane with my sis headed my way. (My mom lives in NC, I live in KY.) Boom, I'm left with a breed I'm not quite too familiar with, with nothing but a desire to do right for it and ease my mom's demands on getting her money back, because thats truly all she seems to care about. She lied when I asked if she called the breeder, and told me the breeder wouldn't take her back. My sis later informed me she never called the breeder.

She's an utter sweetheart, and she's melted my hardened heart against the wee-breeds already. I just have some concerns and questions...

Potty training. Do they have to go very often? I'm quite used to my BCs as puppies, they had to go a LOT, and you had to be right on top of them. I use traditional crate training and positive reinforcement training with my dogs...but I'm bewildered that despite the amount of food and water this pup eats/drinks...in the past two days she has pooped twice, and peed 3 times. Is that normal??? For a 9 wk old pup? She's on SD small breed/small bites puppy food.

Also, what bath soaps are the most reccommended? And what grooming methods do you guys use? And where is the best place to find clothes for her?

Please feel free to Email me at SincereArtisan@aol.com. I'm considering placing her in another home if I can find a suitable one down here, but my concern is getting her fixed before sending her off. I've been told to wait until she is 5 months old, which is what I will probably end up doing.

Thanks for the help!
