Well, my story is much the same. I have a Jack Russell and two Cresties and a few others in my home. They are affectionatley known as the "Barker Gang".
I tried the citronella collar for my JRT and she learned the same thing...that if she barks long enough, the collar can't keep up with her and she will make it run out of juice. I haven't tried it on the Cresties because they're too small for the device. I'm afraid of hurting their necks with the weight of it.
I also have the Sonic Bark Stopper. Worked great...the first couple of times. Now the JTR barks through that too. You can put it on "audible" so you can hear it..VERY ANNOYING. Or, you can put it on "sonic" so only dogs can hear it. I'm not so sure that they do. When I have it on, I use the audible because it works better. All in all, I think both items, the collar and the sonic boom box are both pretty much a waste of money. Look for them on an Ebay near you soon!
