Hi Andrea,
Usually the bloodwork that is done is a cbc and a chemistry profile. They are basically checking the function of the organs and the amount of red and white (and other) blood cells. To test for lymes is a specific test and your vet should also ask whether or not your dog has been vaccinated for it, because that will determine which test the lab uses.
Some dogs have a reaction to rimadyl, so it's good to try a different drug.
Your vet should also be able to tell you if it truly is a luxating patella, or a cruciate, by feel. If it is either one, and it is interfering with her life too much, both can be fixed with surgery.
Is she still lethargic with a decreased appetite?
Are any other legs/ joints affected, or just the one.
Once again, good luck, and let me know the outcome!
Janet
