interesting... i have a Vivante SE which won't work with any high-speed devices. i can get a simple mouse to work, but nothing beyond that (scanners, CD-writers, etc.). i almost had transmonde try and repair it for me but they said that if they couldn't find anything technically wrong witht the port then i would have to pay shipping both ways. it just wasn't worth it to me...
