Yes, I had exactly the same problem, and discovered (by good luck) the same solution of switching off/on very quickly would cure it. After a couple of months, I had to do the switch in less than 1/4 second! Finally, it still failed to boot, but allowed me into the bios with F2, and I had to reset the clock/date (it went back to 1997).

Eventually, I looked underneath the case, opened a door (2 small screws) and found a small battery, replaced it (£1.45) and now it's perfect!
