I had an Ambicom modem with the Lucent chipset (AMB8802-driver # 1.0) that came with my SE-it went bad and Ambicom sent me a replacement-same model # but with a Rockwell chipset and driver version 2.10. The modem works fine but the SE will not boot with the modem driver or the modem installed! I get a DOS error message "windows protection during device configuration has discovered a CONFIGMG error-restart your computer". I then have to restart in "safe" mode and remove the modem driver so I can boot up! Any ideas? Has anyone seen this one before?
