Not sure about that model (Vivante ?), but my Vibrant LS would only take 9.5mm drives (I wouldn't trying squeezing anything else in, unless your documentation specifies 12.7mm drives). Hitachi supposedly makes 9.5mm drives up to 12GB, but I had no luck finding anything above 6GB for sale, and little help from their customer service. I ending up getting an IBM Travelstar 9.5mm 12GB drive from Outpost.com. It was fairly pricey, and rattles more than the old Hitachi, but other than that seems fine. The only problem I ran into, was that the BIOS on the LS read it as an 8 gig, and so Windows wouldn't partition beyond that. Luckily, it wasn't much of a problem as Linux recognized the drive straight off.
