Hello all,
I'm thinking about running a client like rc5des or seti@home on my Vivante SE. I have been using 'rain' ever since i bought the computer, and I almost don't remember what the fan sounds like, as it never comes on.

However, running one of these applications requires a lot of CPU power, and heats up the laptop. So my question is, do I need to be concerned about this? Can I leave my SE on overnight, every night, crunching away? Is there any advantage to using 'rain' other than the fan being off? (ie, does it give less wear and tear on the motherboard/CPU/etc.??).

Thanks for the comments,

LL
