Problem: Vibrant LS Crashes When Playing Sound

Solution: Turn Off All Power Management

I finally solved this ANNOYING problem. Before I disabled
power management, my computer would freeze up at seemingly
random times when playing mp3, midi, and movie files. The
sound would loop endlesslylylylylylylylylylylylylylylylyly
lylylylylyly... until I pressed the power button. Control-
Alt-Del would not reboot the computer.

To disable power management:

1)Control Panel/System/Device Manager/System Devices/
Advanced Power Management Support <-disable

2)Reboot to get to Setup [F2]
Power/Enable Power Saving <-uncheck

3)Control Panel/Power Management <-all set to Never

4)Display Properties/ScreenSaver <-none

I don't think all of the steps are necessary, but it works
for me. My computer is stable with these settings so i'm not
gonna change them. If anyone can figure out why this works
please reply. Is power management the culprit? The Suspend
To Disk partition? Could someone post DETAILED step-by-step
instructions for a reformat and clean install with special
attention to partition set up and sound driver installation?
I typed out the reinstall directions that came with my
Vibrant LS if anyone needs it... or can add to it.

Jessica, you're the only one that posted about this problem.
Let me know if your mp3s still freeze up. If they do i can
give info about my other settings, drivers, programs that I
run, etc. Hope this helps.
