Subject: Re: HMS FROBISHER

Hello,
Yes i remember HMS Frobisher. My father served aboard this ship during ww2. He was aboard off Sword Beach when she was struck forward by a circling torpedo. This caused much damage and loss of life. My father was Marine Albert Heywood; he had just left the Marine gun turret at the end of his watch, when the torpedo struck: " there was nothing left of the turret but burnt rags"
To the day he died he was convinced that the ship was hit by a jettisoned bomb from an alied aircraft; but apparently not.
