Subject: Nightfall

The round ball of fire slowly began to fall, behind the Andrew’s two-story home. Leaving the sky a lovely orange and clouds pinkish purple before it disappeared along the horizon. Any other evening Tracy wouldn’t have paid any attention to such a beautiful sunset. But she’d sat outside that evening, rocking slowly to cool autumn breeze watching the entire seen take place, right before her eyes. It was a show of colors, changing in the sky. The beauty of nature, Jesus Christ our Lord, created. A beauty, that went unnoticed most of the time by people, like herself, that were to busy to just look out their window, or sit on the porch and watch, the picture being painted in the sky. It was a Friday night. Any other time Tracy would most likely be out partying with Kelly at the clubs, dancing & singing in her sexy-tight-leather outfits, or maybe just hanging out with a guy friend...at a hotel or ‘his’ apartment. Charlie would be out in the alleys with Jamie Lee, breaking into a car/building, teaching her some new tricks or stunts, or just hanging out at a racetrack. But things were different now. Tracy’s little baby cousin Jamie Lee would be having her baby in just two months time. Her sister Kelly, well from what she figured was now hanging with her b/f Griffin. But, Griffin and herself never really said they were, dating or anything. Come to think ‘bout it she didn’t really know Griffin. But...from what they’d done when they were together etc.... she figured they were more then friends...looks like she figured wrong. She was jealous, very jealous if him and Kelly, but also hurt at the same time. She hardly spoke to her sister or Griffin unless it was necessary, and she tried to avoid them as much as possible. But, since this thing with Kelly & Griffin happy her and Charlie were talkin more then they’d ever done. Charlie was also bonding with Jamie more and, believe it or not growing the like Gib.well who she called ‘little man/dude’ and even Griffin. Heh, she enjoyed messing and playing around with Griffin more then anything.

As the sky darkened Tracy closed to eyes, taking a deep breath of the sweet scent of the autumn leaves, and fired places burning in a distance. She found herself thinking about Cale as she rocked slowly, wondering how he was doing and how long it’d been since she’d seen him last.

Inside the home, back in the den Charlie was getting her hair trimmed by Kelly and Jamie Lee was over at the sound system messing around and looking through CDs as songs played. She glanced outside at Kelly then at her watch, beginning to wonder when Griffin & Jib would be back, hopefully with some dinner.
