Bill Guerin- signed with DAL 45mil/5years

I have a ton of thoughts on the signings so far this offseason.
First off it makes me sick to think a guy like Holik is making the same as Joe Sakic. Holik is a good player but 9mil a year?! It's crazy and he isn't worth it. The NHL is already falling apart and something can't really be done til the CBA is up in 2004 (thats a whole other issue that I don't have time to go into right now). I don't like seeing Guerin get 9 mil a year either but it's more deserving then Holiks deal.
Oates heading to the Ducks is a great move for Oates himself and for the Ducks organization. Paul Karyia is probably throwing a party. His needed support since Selanne left and finally the management has done something about it.
CuJo in Detroit I see this as just another move to try and buy yet another Stanley CUp. Note to Ken Holland...The Stanley Cup can not be purchased it must be earned on the ice. New York does the same thing only differance is Detroit has made some smart moves and has that vetren leadership that it takes to bring home Hockeys Holy Grail.
With Lang going to Washington I can tell you right now that he was brought in for Jagr. Although he finished the year well Jagr had one of the worst if not the worst year I've every seen him play. It was terrible and with the money spent on him Washington did the smart thing and brought in a player that knows Jagr and Jagr knows on the ice. They worked magic in Pittsburg at times and The Caps are hoping to see the same happen in Washington.
Dallas picked up a couple guys so far Guerin and Boucher. Personally I wanted Boucher to end up in Colorado with Kapser going to NYR but it didn't happen. Guerin is gonna to be over paid as everyone expected and Boucher came at a decent price and it a great addition to an aging blueline in Dallas.
Buffalo fans are happy to see Rob Ray back...well most I've talked to anyways. He's a fiesty guy that's important wheather their fans will admit it or not to the Sabres.
Gelinas was pretty much unknown to the casual fan before the playoffs but with the 'canes made a name for himself. A great inexpensive aquisition for the Flames and I think in the long run they'll be every happy they signed him.
Now for the one most are reading this for and I left it for last...not on purpose by the way it just happened :)
Belfour to Toronto. I'm not sure how anyone here feels about it but I can tell you most Leafs fans I've talked to are not too happy about losing CuJo and settling for Belfour. On the other hands I swear here in Halifax you could hear the Sens and their fans partying. Belfour is a step down as CuJo is a step down from Hasek in Detroit. Maybe a change isn't so bad though. The facts are CuJo has been great in TO but the Leafs have still yet to win a cup since '67...not exactly a dynasty going on there is it?!
Anyways I'm done for now. Maybe we can now get people talking on this message board :D
