Subject: More OT - need Jossverse opinions of 'Charmed' ;)

Our cable network - Star World, is going to start showing Charmed for the first time here in India. I've heard discussions about the hilarity of this show being a lead in for Angel, so, what's a Buffy and Angel fan's opinion of this show? Should I start watching? Shudder in disgust? Get out my VHS tapes? I need to know how much emotional investment I need to make, cause I'm already in way too deep with these shows!

The first two seasons are the best. They truly are. They show the awesome dynamics the three actresses have together and it's pure magic. It's hokey at times...but I love this show.

My opinion: The show is enjoyable for what it is--simple escapism that doesn't really provoke much thought. I'm not saying that's such a bad thing; actually, I like "Charmed" (or at least, I did until this past season) and it's good enough diversion. But it's not in a class with "Buffy" or "Angel," by any means, in either characterization or plot (though the dialogue can be clever). I agree with Dawny, BTW, about the first two seasons being the best.

I've watched CHARMED a couple of times, and I just can't stand it. It's a guilty pleasure at best, ala BAYWATCH.

Of course, I watched the entire first season of BAYWATCH, so maybe I'm not one to talk. :)

I like Charmed enough, though it definately has gone downhill. I won't freak out if I miss an episode...or more. But occasionally, it's a nice show to watch. I will agree that it really isn't on the same level as Buffy and Angel.
