Catfood Robbo.
I always pay a comliment when one is due and I must say that the chainguards all arrived this morning and that I am well impressed these are clearly and undoubtably the best reproductions I have seen. Yes even better than those being reproduced locally.
Anyone wanting an exact copy chainguard I am sure Kitty Catfood would appriciate a shout.

Hi,

Could anyone tell me what type of paint to use on a rubber tyre? I have a rear slick which has the groove for the red line but cant seem to find any tyre pens except in white.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

I must just say thanx to Niven for coming over to our humble abode. It was an absolute pleasure playing host to you for the evening.
I am ovewhelmed by the fact that think my bikes are on top of the quality ladder with yours.
I was amazed that you thought the colour of the swingbike was so nice you cant wait to have your chopper done in it.
I am on with the other little challenge you set me lets see what the result of this is.
The result being I have achieved my goal, I was waiting some sort of critism from you but there clearly was nothing but compliments THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!! TCSE

I have a raleigh chopper bike I wish to sell. It is a reddy orange colour, it has some rust on it but i think that is only on the surface, the inner tubes on the tyres need replaceing. The gears and brakes work and the seat is not damaged in any way. There is a white band with writing on it around the seat. Sensible offers please. If you are interested please e-mail hurstpark.arabs@tiscali.co.uk.

Date Posted: 02:31:13 11/12/03 Wed

Does anyone please have clear & easy to follow instructions about replacing the stand & spring, quadrant thingy & pin??

TC, I have found some on here about removing, but not replacing!

I actually never took mine out, Alex J asssisted me in removing it with some kind of contraption that he'd created!

OTHER THINGS:

What are the exact spaces/ measurements for the positioning of decals & does everyone that uses Mike Hughes decals follow his instructions about dipping the decals in water before applying them. I personally don't like the look of this. I know it's meant to assist sliding them into position, but surely water & adhesive don't mix well?!
How do other people successfully stick on the decals?

Finally, has anyone ever done an alteration to a Pifco light to get it working with todays' batteries - if so how?

Thank you all.

PROPPERCHOPPER'BO' AKA RICHARD

Wow
first time on this board - still haven't fully sussed out computers.
I notice that there's a fair bit of early kit floating about on this board - so here's my wanted list for my 69 single speed coaster tall frame project.
69 handlebar stem,
single speed coaster console - with the front-to rear lines (no it's not just a tommy console!)
69 seat pan - with the different seat bracket (gold dust - I know)
I am also after a normal mk1 chainguard, in original orange paint - not a respray, and I have a DUNLOP stamped mk1 front rim for trade with a sturmey one - pretty good condition.
I also have a really (Really!) nice 69 11 stamped, 3 speed wheel with a genuine rim en route from the states, and a Carmine mk1 chainguard (not a 69 one!) - prefer to trade for the above parts.
A mk1 stand (rsw?) for my Eatons fastback 100 would be nice as well - the raleigh twenty one makes it fall over!?!
let me know - and keep those choppers going! - kev

Help! Can anybody help me with either front, rear or both (I should be so lucky) Lenton redlines (same as Raleigh but with Lenton not Raleigh logo) need urgently for an off-brand Chopper. Needn't be mint or NOS, just presentable enough to still put on a bike. Any leads on whereabouts of any would be great. Not that I'm being fussy but they must be VINYLON type (not sure if they ever did the later Nylon ones anyway under their own name?)

Well, after just over a year of searching for parts, my MK1 Chopper is almost complete.

MANY MANY Thanks go out to the people who have sold me parts for this project, without whos help, this bike would still be a knackered old frame

Special thanks go out to TC and Gary hughes, wiythout whos help i would still be on the first stage of the restoration.

TRhanks go out to ALL THE PEOPLE who have given me much valued information.

The Chopper was built up for a test run which is when i took this photograph. the cycle has since been dismantled, until i have the parts i am missing, to save any damage.

Well, heres the Chopper as it looked for the test run, the Chopper will look ten times better when i build it up permenantly

No doubt about it - TC is the Top Cat and the Dogs B******s when it comes to restorations. The restoration of my SE using 100% NOS parts and even more so,my totally stunning Chopper Tandem with 95% NOS and the other 5% rechromed to the highest possible quality just goes to show that when it comes to getting a Chopper up to better than concours condition,TC is second to none!
Some try to knock him,but I really can't fault him for anything he's done for me.3 resto's completed and

So are 99% of the parts on the bike, or rechromed to perfection. It is for sale, may split to sell seperate parts, will not split frame fork and chainguard tho. Shifter, saddle etc all NOS. Just wanted to say a massive Thank You to Tony Collins for matching my sponsorship money raised on my bike ride at the weekend pound for pound.
Too many people slag Tony off very quickly and it is totally out of order.Tony has been extremely helpful and generous since i got back into Choppers early last year and when he tries to do good things for everyone, they all still want to knock him. - Why? - I'll never understand it.
Thanks to Tony,i've doubled my sponsorship raised to £360 which will be going to help the Cancer Research fund probe into men's testicullar cancer and help raise awareness.
I broke my arm,had severe skin loss over my upper torso and joints and collapsed into the ambulance after insisting i finish the last mile and a half after the fall before being taken to hospital and getting given the 6 stitches in the worse of the two head wounds i suffered too.I was determined to finish the course and want to again underline my appreciation for the generous gesture Tony has shown for my doing so.
TC,You're the best!

Anyone got a brake cable "R" ball - the one that keeps the cables from flying around everywhere? Please let me know if you have and your asking price.

Cheers.

TC, Gary H, etc - just a quick not to say the MK2 5 speed that was built up at Billing (had to travel in bits due to all the excess spares in the boot of car!!) is now rideable. Could have been up together in an hour if it wasn't for my sad obsession with originality. No union chain (the cause of all the problems) it is now powered by the chain from my mountain bike.. Thanks to Rob Kimber for taking the old paint off, Gary Hughes for supplying the new paint - and my local friendly bodyshop - BGS for painting it for me. Love it
