Why should it matter to you what happens to thieves? America has a pussy justice system. America has declared a war on their own people called the war on drugs. Non-violent criminals are locked up for monetary reasons.
At least we punish the right criminal with a just punishment. We don't have a lot of crime here you know. You could learn something from us. Your crime rate is out of control.
What do you want to do? Disarm the law abiding public? Some example you set.
