It was prominently reported, so in some minds it is and will always be The Truth. A similar story regarding the damage-that-wasn't was posted at Rants and Raves earlier, to no avail. Jack et al are firmly convinced that theft and vandalism of the Evil Democrats reached epic proportions in both the White house and Air Force One. Later retractions have done absolutely nothing to sway their belief, but at least watching them talk about it was pretty entertaining. When pressed for proof of all this serious damage that was supposed to have been done, someone (I think it was Jack) even went so far as to insist Dubya ordered no records/pictures be kept because that's just the nice, decent type of fella Dubya is!
It's no use; folks that hated the last administration won't let the facts get in their way. :)
