I'm more of a Democracy Now! fan, so I miss many of the wonderful stories mentioned on NPR.

That's so great 'Zona is getting some positive publicity in respect to how the state collectively does politics. There have been so many unflattering national articles about the Grand Canyon State--albeit well-deserving--in the past, so it's good to see something so encouraging.

Not so great was the ballot measure backed by the conservatives which would have had the effect of gutting the entire system of a candidate asking the general public for a small $5 donation and getting matching funds based upon their success to run a better financed campaign. Apparently, they wanted to cut off their political "nose" to spite their face. There have been several religious reactionaries that have run for the Arizona legislature which benefitted from having a few extra dollars in their "warchests" for more signs and direct mailings to get their unfamiliar names before the voters.
