DO NOT destroy my little vacation taste of that area. Remember, I live in THE MOST godforsaken town east of SM's -- Lubbock, TX, Bushie's "moral barometer." Remember? The only place worse is New Mexico...except for their governor, who will go back to being pilloried after the Reps get tired of picking on Jeffords. Oh, yeah, and to make matters worse, the Righties have taken a cue from Scalia and his gang and decided to abandon property rights here by imposing a smoking ban in all public gathering places. It's still dry, too.

And all this time I was convinced that WE were the allergy capitol of the world. Blowing dust, anyone? And how about the cotton residue at ginnin' time? BAAAD sick, you guys. The EPA even nails us for air quality issues jsut about every year because of that.

Tell you what, MM and DT. I'll trade a year in my ghetto apartment for your digs in the Hills. Next June we'll get together and compare notes!

Speaking of NM, the health care there is probably the worst in the country. Even those with actual "good" insurance, not Medicaid, have problems getting services paid for. Our patients from every social strata are continually screwed, and not just for services out of state. It's godawful. Those who can afford it are fleeing in droves.
