How could I forget PO Coates? This role is shaping up to be a very interesting one. Coates is gutsy and smart and and attractive, without the cloying sweetness, or conversely, smart alecky cuteness of the cliche ingenue role. She is strong and quick-thinking. She reacted to Bud's injury immediately, tying a tourniquet around his leg, and subsequently saving his life.

Could there be a medal or a promotion in this for Coates? The show would do well to keep such a likeable character in a secondary role to replace that of Singer (as Nancy Chambers is pregnant and may not continue with JAG.) Who can forget the way she yelled "Watch Me!!! at the medic when he said she couldn't accompany Bud on the helo? This actress is a scene stealer.
