Subject: Good episode!

I give Harm a 10 for being a friend and a 9.5 for being hot. He spends the whole time in uniform! But he spends some time not sleeping and is looking pretty ragged (and hot!)

Synoposis: 'Hemlock' is an assasin hired to kill a foreign dignitary. The itenirary of this person is faxed to him at his fake office, only whoever is faxing it gets the last digits transposed and accidentally sends it to Meg. Hemlock goes to Meg office to get the document back, and then shoots Meg in the head, then he takes a few shots at Krennick before fleeing.

The rest of the episode is Harm trying to track Hemlock down. He feels very guilty that Meg got shot because she was doing research for him while he went to lunch with an old Academy friend Lt. Cmdr. Bruce Carmichael.

This episode is very good. The action is good, the intrigue is excellent and Harm is great in it. I think DJE did a good job with the acting in this episode. This is probably one of the first times we see Harm get really obsessive about something (Pilot Error being another time). Harm is at his best when he is trying to protect a friend from danger, or trying to clear their name.

I always enjoyed the interplay between Harm and Meg. I could have very easily been a 'shipper for them, if she had stuck around. There is a wonderful scene where either Krennick tells Harm to go home and get some sleep, and he tells her he will sleep when Meg is okay. From the time Meg got shot, until Hemlock dies, Harm doesn't sleep and he doesn't give up.

In order to catch Hemlock, Harm and Krennick first have to prove he exists. The CIA is almost convinced he's a myth the Soviets cooked up. This is where Meg's old friend 'Ollie' comes in (played by Iran-Contra center Lt. Colonel Oliver North) **as an aside, do I have to explain Iran-Contra to anyone from the US?** He was a friend of Meg's dad (who died when she was a young girl) who has connections that help Harm and Krennick.

Then they have to find out who the intended target was, and Ollie helps on that front also.

There is a very funny scene when they go to a computer hacker to help them find out who the assasin replaced in the British ring of the Pentagon. He tells Krennick his grandmother left him the house and there is some interplay about how Krennick's grandmother left Krennick her breasts.

I know a lot of people didn't like Krennick. However, I did. She WAS brash and abrasive, but she was supposed to be. I also really liked her and Harm, and especially the scene in his car when she tells him she's going home to take a shower and that if he's really worried about her (she had also seen Hemlock's face) he could come and join her. Didn't disturb me at all!

The episode did have it's cheesy parts, especially when an unconcious Meg was dreaming about her father (played by Steven Ford, son of former President Gerald Ford).

But the best line goes to Admiral Chegwidden when he tells Harm and Krennick to steal their (NCIS, I think) thunder, and that no one comes into his office, shoots one of his officers and gets away with it.

This is one of my favorite season one episodes, Smoked being the other.
