I love the emotions that run through them in this ep... Tenderness, fear, guilt, determination...For some reason I didn't remember that they had to sleep in a huddle and share body heat...LOL now where have I seen that before? (NT) -- Chris K, 22:06:33 05/20/05 Fri

I think this ep foreshadows everything that followed in the H/M relationship: his/her troubled personal histories, miscommunication between them, banter in life-threatening situations, his promising her, etc.etc. But when/who said "having sex"? Got the rest of the quotes. (NT) -- clr, 22:18:54 05/20/05 Fri

oye...its been a while since ive seen this one...the only one i remember is body heat (NT) -- suze, 22:24:05 05/20/05 Fri

I don't remember the "having sex" comment either! Someone refresh our memories! (NT) -- JAG Junkie--haven't seen this ep in a while, but it is one of my favorites!, 23:10:26 05/20/05 Fri

I'm starting to wonder if it's been cut in the more recent USA eps.. Originally USA had more complete eps.. with each year they cut more to add an extra commercial. The sailor said it when he and Bud were standing outside of Harm's door - (NT) -- Chris K - He's not home, he's having sex or he's dead., 23:21:33 05/20/05 Fri

Out of 5 Im giving it 5 stars. I love it. Great emotional performance on DJE about his dad and same with Mac about her remorse killing one of the men. Not only their chemistry was electric but so soulful. We see Mac jealous of the mystery Sarah and Harm also jealous of Eddy. The teasing from TPTB begins. Why name Harm's plane Sarah? Years later it was brought up again too with AJ thinking Sarah was after Sarah Mackenzie in ep.Dangerous Game.Love to talk more but its Star Wars night for me and my family (NT) -- Jann, 22:25:33 05/20/05 Fri

I'll answer your first question last. The memorable scene in the Afghan desert with Harm and Mac snuggling to eachother to keep warm with "body heat". Also, Harm makes reference to no room service in FE and he also makes the reference in "In Country". I would rate it a 4 because there is almost 35 minutes with Harm and Mac. This is what should have happened in FWAFS, but I digress. The A story was really all there was. The B story with the fraudulent enlistment just helped the A story along. The fraudulent enlistment case in FWAFS was just an annoying distraction and took away from the A story.TPTB regressed on the Harm and Mac UST scale in seasons 9 and 10. If they had some of the banter and interaction between Harm and Mac in the later seasons, We would not be mourning the demise of JAG because TPTB abandoned the one hook that would have kept viewers tuning in every week. I think there was some good chemistry although I always thought that CB was a little stiff in the second season. Her voice seemed nervous and she really seemed ill at ease.I think she grew into the part in subsequent seasons. Harm was his charming self. I think Mac was interested in Harm. She was worried that "sarah" was named after Harm's girlfriend. I think Harm was initially oblivious to Mac as a romantic interest. He did tease her. I think as he got to know her better, especially after she was shot, he warmed to her. But, I think he was too hung up on a lot of things like his father's fate to really think of Mac as more than a good friend and colleague. I think they were basically getting to know one another, but not making the leap to romantic interest, although there was a undeniable attraction.(NT)--Lori Lynn 22:26:08 05/20/05 Fri

I agree, I think Mac felt a pang of jealousy but the real sparks hadn't started yet... I think it took Harm a few seasons longer to catch on to what his feelings for Mac actually meant to him. As for the similarities.. I noticed two more maybe someone noticed even more? (NT) -- Chris K, 22:31:38 05/20/05 Fri

I agree too. Harm was still dealing with so much he hadn’t started to see Mac as a romantic interest yet. Probably still little bothered by her resemblance to Diane. I would think as the years went by began to see less and less of Diane in her and started to develop deeper feelings. (NT) -- Hope, 22:35:17 05/20/05 Fri

I think this is a great ep. I give it a 5. the relationship between H/M increase from the beginning to the end and it's deep when they are sitting at night and talk about their past but the true time is when the are in the steam, the look between them is priceless. I think in this ep. begin the teasing . (NT) -- Gra, 22:30:03 05/20/05 Fri

I loved this episode rate it a 5. Harm and Mac working together, teasing each other, and cuddling under the stars. I think this was the beginning of the attraction but since they worked together weren’t going to act on it. But the time together gave them a chance to learn more about each other and allowed their friendship to grow and strengthen. Of course the scene by the campfire is very reminiscent of the scene in ‘In Country’. (NT) -- Hope, 22:30:16 05/20/05 Fri

I’ve only seen the USA version of Full Engagement and have always wondered if there are any missing scenes? We all know how infamous USA is about deleting scenes…does anyone know of any? I’d love to hear about them!!! (NT) -- Susie, 22:31:35 05/20/05 Fri

I think there's more conversation at the end in the plane where Harm asks Mac if she's okay and she says she's going to pass out and he says stay with me marine.. then the conversation about his grandmother starts. IF there's anything else, I don't think it was anything critical or interesting - unless Does the ensign and Bud banging on Harm's door appear on the USA version before Bud steps into the apartment? (NT) -- Chris K -, 22:34:42 05/20/05 Fri

In this ep. we watch how working the feeling b/ H and M like fight and help each other. Both have stong opinions and no one want to relinquish the lead. Some who is on top, but when they are in dangerous situation they work together. (NT) -- Gra, 22:41:10 05/20/05 Fri

I love the Jag adventure and blossoming Harm and Mac romantic adventure.Im giving acting kudos to HAE & MAE.Their feelings were starting up but both were clueless.Harm enjoyed too much Mac's jealousy about Sarah.Love how both shared their troubles and history with each other. How can we not forget those cute lines *you think Im fat stickboy*.LOL! (NT) -- Lois, 22:51:51 05/20/05 Fri

I will give it a FIVE as well :)! I love the episode!!! :) A story is interesting, while B story is cute :)!! .......... and love the interactions between Harm and Mac :)!! (NT) -- Acer, 22:54:30 05/20/05 Fri

Also, I love "Sarah"!! That is one beautiful plane!! :) (NT) -- Acer, 23:00:22 05/20/05 Fri

Fate plays a part in this episode - guiding them to the landing site, though they say it's his dad watching over them. But it's interesting. . .There's some great CW shots in this episode, one when he introduces himself to the poachers. The line in this episode about "most men making me breakfast" - so did he the next morning after McMurphys, 'cause she surely spent the night with him! (NT) -- Araninda - thanks Chris for helping tonight, 23:00:35 05/20/05 Fri
Oh, I love the line by the young sailor to Bud: "if you had a chance to take a woman, would you take you?" And the line from the guy at the airfield that it won't be the first time he's flown out of here with a pretty woman & not come back until the next morning. So I guess Harm at this stage is still the careful young bachelor fighter jock? (NT) -- Araninda, 23:07:06 05/20/05 Fri

that sailor had some of the funniest lines... he's also the one at Harm's front door when Bud was banging on it calling for Harm, the sailor said something about - he's not home or.. he's having sex (that's when I looked up) or he's dead. LOL - I thought that line was great - then the lines in the apartment were hilarious too- especially the 'would you take you?' (NT) -- Chris K, 23:19:25 05/20/05 Fri

Even though they were having fun at Bud's expense, they weren't making fun OF him. But was trying it darnest to do his job and help the kid, so you feel for his predicament, but you still get to chuckle when the kid pokes fun. (NT) -- The Chief, 23:22:39 05/20/05 Fri

Exactly... Bud was just a little comic relief.. even when he made a fool of himself in the delilah scene a few years later we always laughed with him not at him (NT) -- Chris K - who missed Bud putting foot in mouth the last few years, 23:25:21 05/20/05 Fri

I noticed that too - in season one they were playing up the dress whites and gold wings attitude and this season they still don't want to put the playboy fighter pilot image to rest yet... LOL (NT) -- Chris K - I actually thought the hanger manager could have been an interesting character if seen again., 23:32:23 05/20/05 Fri

The same thought crossed my mind to, Araninda, you know they spent the night together after McMurphy's.....wouldn't it have been nice to see them the morning after with him making her breakfast and possibly making a comment about her tattoo. I guess that's why I still feel cheated by TPTB (think of it Mac's apartment filled with comfortable shoes left there by Harm on the eve of their wedding).oh well......anyway , this is definitly a 5 star episode. (NT) -- Cokie, 23:27:39 05/20/05 Fri

I give it a 5 definitely. The episode held my interest from beginning to end. It shows the deepening of Harm and Mac's relationship...chemistry???? for petes sake...it was palpable. The end, just before they got back...I'd give my eye teeth to know what she was going to ask him before those poachers showed up!!! (NT) -- mkim ah yes...the good old bad days...threy sure were fun...sigh, 23:24:52 05/20/05 Fri

makes you wonder if even the writer knows what she was going to ask.... (NT) -- Chris K - who loves the scene when Harm is cleaning her leg - the look on that man's face....sigh, 23:27:08 05/20/05 Fri

He was gorgeous the whole show...I know I said this before but he just looked so young and cute in that ball cap...I could look at those pics all day. BTW Thanks Hope! (NT) -- mkim, 23:32:11 05/20/05 Fri

There were several times when his eyes just burned through you... he didn't say much with words but he answered her with a nod,a sound and THOSE EYES... (NT) -- Chris K - yes... he was looking very good, 23:34:09 05/20/05 Fri

I think she was going to ask about Sarah. She thought she might not make it and wanted to know who he named his plane after. (NT) -- Hope, 23:33:51 05/20/05 Fri

I've only seen the USA edited version......maybe someone who watches the Canadian History Channel can tell us, but I think Harm asks her again at the end when they are flying what it was she was gonig to as him at the stream and that's where the comment about his grandmother comes in. (NT) -- Cokie, 23:32:55 05/20/05 Fri

yes he does.. right after she says she's going to pass out then he says stay with me marine and says - what were you going to ask me and she asks if he still loves her. then he explains about his grandmother (NT) -- Chris K, 23:43:19 05/20/05 Fri

Thanks Chris K, I am so jealous of our northern neighbors..........there are so many scenes that were cut by the USA Channel that it makes me want the DVD set all the more. (NT) -- Cokie, 23:56:37 05/20/05 Fri

I have to give this one a 5. It is one of my favorites. And it is one of the shipperiest of the early episodes. I love the background info that we got and I love how H/M's friendship deepened in this ep. (NT) -- JAG Junkie--I especially love the part about sharing body heat during the night!, 23:28:49 05/20/05 Fri

Anyone remember the reusing of the underage enlistee in this ep and the last ep? Someone pointed out at least in this ep it blended with the Harm and Mac story... in FWaFS it was just a nuisance (NT) -- Chris K -, 23:29:13 05/20/05 Fri

Another thing I like about this ep... It's the only ep I can think of where Harm just outright LAUGHS out LOUD... a full from the belly, open mouthed, hearty laugh... (NT) -- Chris K - does anyone remember him laughing like that in any other ep?, 23:45:10 05/20/05 Fri

I can't think of any other times, except maybe when running into Keeter in "Smoked". I will say this tho... that man has a wonderfully large mouth! Just think of the possibilities!!! (NT) -- MizChief, 23:54:08 05/20/05 Fri

Isn't that why he has a board named after him??? (NT) -- Chris K - and SUCH possibilities they are... LOL, 23:58:29 05/20/05 Fri

You could be right, ChrisK! You could be right! LOL (NT) -- The Chief (wow! a whole message board dedicated to discussing Harm! What a great concept!), 00:07:58 05/21/05 Sat

I concur Chrisk which makes me recall while flying Harm happily ask Mac loudly "do you like it" and Mac responds with equal passion "I love it". Harm also wanted her to love his passion. Its very special that "onscreen" other than poor wacky Meredith its only Mac and Bud Harm took flying with him.Its comforting and meaningful that creek scene between Harm and Mac was in their memories on Fairwinds ep.taking to mean it was significant in their lives. Im thudding again.LOL! (NT) -- StephanieY, 00:06:54 05/21/05 Sat

Hey ChrisK - When i was at the shooting on 7/24/03, HAE was sitting around with the guys and had that full-bodied laugh! It really caught my attention in my silent observer mode and i have always enjoyed hearing it again in episodes. I think that is HAE's real laugh. (NT) -- TQ, 16:21:59 05/21/05 Sat

This episode is a 5 for me. I think this is the episode when I first fell in love with...the tongue! So many great shots of the tongue in this ep...Whew! it's warm in here...I noticed some other things about the episode, but I'll go inside as I could go on fo awhile....Okay...one thing I noticed in this episode is that this is where I first noticed a pattern with Mac wanting to do things her way. This is not Mac bashing but I think typical of some women that have needed to fight for their independence, their dignity at times, and their self-confidence...I can relate to her and felt close to Mac in this episode because of it. I'm talking about in scenes like at the beginning and she's determined to go for help and Harm wants to stay with the plane...he gives in to Mac of course. Then later when she's starting to fall apart, she pulls it together because he's offering comfort and she can't handle it for fear she'll become weak...and later at the end when she's ready to give up, Harm nails it when he gets her going again by holding up the one thing that she hangs on to...her independece and need to be the semper fi kick-ass gung-ho marine. He's learned not to coddle or comfort at that point to to motivate her with her need for independence. I think it showed how much he respected her and you see him hesitate before he quickly decides to use that tactic on her. His 'sexism' is the thing to motivate her more then anything. I also noticed in this ep that Harm's speech patterns were different then they are in later episoded and I'm not sure why that is. SOmeone mentioned once they thought he wore invisible braces. I knew at one point Bud does, but does Harm (or HAE) too? And did I mention the tongue....LOL. Yeah this episode is where you can see they really are starting to have something deeper develop between them and you get the idea that they are comfortable getting to know each other, spending time outside of JAG together, laughing togehter. Now as for the comment she makes to him about being a 'stickboy' I've always wondered if she meant because of his flying and used it in reference to his love for flying and the plane is controled by the 'stick' as she later calls him 'flyboy' instead or if she is saying that he is skinny as in her reference that he should have worked out more...and by the way is that why we can attribute Harm's more muscular physique as the years go by...he wanted to appeal to her apparnet desire for a more muscular man? Or was 'stickboy' referring to her perception of 'CW' and hence his laugh like, "you don't know nothing about 'CW' yet lady or you wouldn't be calling me 'stickboy'!" Oh and did I mention that I love the dirty face and stubble we get to see in this episode...makes me want to hear that raspy sound...hand on face...oh yeah! Then I don't want to forget the way Mac hung on to his wrist/hand when he was cupping her face promising her he would get her through it and they looked into each other's eyes just before she told him there was something she had to ask him. This is where I think Mac really started to fall for her 'flyboy/sailor' and I think I fell right along with her.(NT)---- Hollyjp, 02:22:49 05/21/05 Sat

This episode did foreshadow the level of love Harm was going to have for Mac. Everytime he wanted to stay with the plane or do something else, he always followed her....away from the plane, carrying the stuff, her value thru his eyes was made clear by the number of times he gives in to her decisions. (NT) -- Linda, 02:25:19 05/21/05 Sat

I think Full Engagement really heated up the UST between them. Mac seemed aware of some feelings for Harm starting to grow. They had to depend on each other much like they would have to for years to come. It was a great ep and for me about a 4 on the scale. Now Harm was a 10 with his hat on backwards! (NT) -- Shell, 11:00:42 05/21/05 Sat

I loved the way he kept looking at mac... I'd give those eyes and 'that' look- a 15.. LOL (NT) -- CHris K, 11:35:48 05/21/05 Sat

Wow, didn't get a chance to post anything last night becuase I had to go and get sick. Think I have bronchitis. Slept for 12 hours, but I just wanted to say that I loved this episode and would definitely give it a 5. That said, I am going back to bed so I can really read all of the threads without them being blurry from drugs! (NT) -- Martian Barb with no one to hold me while I am sick. Think Harm can help me out?, 19:46:25 05/21/05 Sat
