Drop Zone – Season 5

What It's About –

Mac faces off with Bud and Lt. Singer in the case of a CPO charged with negligence in the death of a Marine in a training exercise.

Reasons to Watch – Harm in Navy blue, Harm in the kitchen and Harm in command! The case is fraught with intrigue – not on the facts so much as on the conduct of the trial. Before this ep, Singer was mostly an attitude. After this, her character was fixed, and in some ways, this ep sets part of the stage for what may lie ahead in this year's "shocker."

Reasons to Tape – This is the one where Singer declared her intention of becoming the Navy's first female JAG. This is the one with the famous "Part B" of the mishap report you might have heard mentioned in discussions on the boards. This is the one that set us up for "The Video Princess Returns" and everything that came after. In other words, it's when the turning point turned back. For new converts to JAG, you might find this interesting for its meandering approach to what became long-term storylines. It's hard to tell from this single ep what might have gone before it or what might come after. For those who wish the new ones were as good as the old ones, give this one a second look. It may not be "Chain of Command" or "Shakedown," but I found it surprisingly good when I gave it a chance. Catch "Drop Zone" and give us your report, too – including "Part B," of course. LOL!
