Many parts of this episode reminded me of the good old days of Scott Gemill-written episodes, and the more quick little comments. I'm over.... Inside In reply to:

I laughed when Mac talked about other great "dream teams" and the examples she used. Good on the cleverness scale. Of course, the porpoise humor reminded me of that "Moon River" episode in the elevator when Harm was handed that exposure case. However, it was weird to see how parts of this episode were pieced together. I thought the pod people (or Clark Palmer) had arrived to write the exchanges with Coates and Vuck. It was annoying to have to deal with the pod-written crap along with the much better JAG dialogue and interaction we love. Turning to the music, which I enjoy so much, I loved the "Mattie's Theme" variations which Steve Bramson created for the Mattie scenes. Finally, it was really great to see Vuck get his come-uppance because he did not do his homework and was incompetent, unlike Bud or Harm. I'm glad that the episode did not focus on another example of unethical behavior - but rather focused on Vuck's incompetence. As a retired (YEA)lawyer, I could not believe how Vuck conducted his interviews, and how he jumped to conclusions without doing a full investigation. I guess it goes without saying that when you compare Vuck with Harm, there is no way that Vuck matches up (even with the Harm of the first three seasons). And there is no way that the actor chosen by TPTB matched up with the actor playing Harm. What were they thinking? I thought the line in front of the elevator with Mac was pretty telling - that she did not really see Harm when she looked at Vuck. However, you would not have come to that conclusion from JAG:San Diego.
