In the opening scene, Sturgis was met in the bullpen by Tiner, who informed him that Col. Mackenzie wanted to see him in her office. Sturgis asked if he had time for a cup of coffee, Tiner indicated that it might be better if he brought it in for him... something big is going on. ~Cue foreboding music~

When Sturgis enters the Admiral's office, Mac is just finishing talking to said admiral. Sturgis asks how he's doing, Mac says he feels like he punched out of an F-14. So now we know that Mac will be acting JAG for the week.

She then tells him that what she's about to tell him is need to know. A sub that put out from Norfolk earlier this week has an empty quiver--a missing nuke. The ordinance officer on board the sub has requested Sturgis as his attorney, or maybe just to do the investigation. They never were completely clear on that point.

At this point, we switch to the B story. Harm and Bud are in an Article 32 hearing for Lt. Stephen O'dell. The Luitenent was the disbursment officer aboard a carrier that was part of the same battle group the aforementioned sub belongs to. Just days before the carrier was to sail (it's still in Norfolk) he was charged with embezzling. Harm smells a frame, so he decides he's going to go to Norfolk to check it out and come back at 15:00 with his findings.

But when he gets to Norfolk, lo and behold, there's Sturgis waiting to take the helo out to the sub. Sturgis tells Harm whats up and that the base is now in lockdown--translation, Harm won't be getting back in time for his hearing. Instead, he spends his time on the carrier trying to find some evidence that his client is innocent.

Meanwhile, Mac is trying to hold down the fort and keep the Admiral from finding out that Harm is in Norfolk. AJ and Meredith are debating dog names (Cassius and Portia both came up... guess who suggested them.) We find out that Meredith has a fear of quiet.

On the sub, Sturgis takes each member of the weapons crew through the loading procedure individually. We're talking about 8 people here, so he was busy. The idea was to figure out when exactly the nuke went missing in the time from when it was loaded at Norfolk to when they noticed it on their first day out.

Harm is going through documents he pulled out of the memory on the fax and copy machine and notices that there are two sets of many documents, one of them being the request for the armored car delivery that was to bring the carrier's 10 mil before she was to sail. One request said 17:00, the other 18:00. It points to a frame, and the logical person is the PO who served in the office.

The PO is currently driving a van down to the base entrance so he can intercept the armored car with said 10 mil. He dupes the armored car dudes into unloading the cash into his van, and he drives off. When the other armored car arrives at 18:00 thinking it's supposed to pick up, not drop off, the final pieces fall in place and they get him.

Sturgis is putting the his puzzle together as well. He finally ascertains that when the sub fired their test round, called a water slug, they didn't check all the tubes to make sure they were empty and inadvertantly fired one of the nukes. Big mistake, careers will end.

And in one of the last scenes, AJ names his dog Damnit. That hits most of the high points and quite a few low points... anything I missed?
