Hi Cece! I too agree that the story about the MIA submariners was very poignant indeed. At first I had thought it was just the new Secnav throwing his weight around, but as the story unfolded I found myself completely engrossed. Harm, Mac and Sturgis make an awesome team and I wouldn't mind seeing more of it. Bud/Harriet--I really had liked this story, but their sex lives--I don't need to know that. They are dragging this out a whole lot longer than needed. Don't get me wrong--I feel the story was a unique turn, but there's too much of it now. (NT) -- They need to bring Harm and Mac to the frontburner--I need to see them sizzle on the screen, not just be leftovers. . . . . CharS, 06:52:21 11/07/02 Thu

Forgot to add--Manetti, I think I'd like her more if she dropped the accent. She could be a great addition to JAG, but the Secnav getting her the job also bothered me. They should have done it a little differently. But that accent--would be like me trying to do my best southern belle---YICK! (NT) -- CharS, 06:59:03 11/07/02 Thu

Another good post, Cece. Although "Bud" is giving , IMHO, a stellar performance, I am getting tired of this also. I also like Manetti. Singer has been written as such a dated stereotype (MHO) and I'm happy to see the addition of a smart female. Possibly her "referral" my the SceNav was a red herring to provide intrigue re her true character. (NT) -- Techie51, 07:05:24 11/07/02 Thu

I must be the only cynical person on this board. I got no satisfaction from the submariner's families story. Dang it, inside please. -- Carrotts, confused once again so what else is new, 10:22:53 11/07/02 Thu

Yeah, it wasn't an MIA issue. It was, IMHO, the fates of those who work "in the shadows". Another ripped from the headlines storyline - just yesterday the FBI et al released news of the capture of some Folks selling drugs to buy arms for Al Queda. The agents wore wires and camers undercover to catch these Folks. If they had been killed; one more star on a wall. After slamming the CIA, IMHO, it was a tribute to their working conditions, albeit oblique. (NT) -- Techie51, 10:38:10 11/07/02 Thu

That's a good point Techie. I must admit that I found the story somewhat unfinished in itself, and I'm not at all certain why the secrecy had to continue to the lengths it did. But overall, I liked the tribute story line. (NT) -- Cece, 13:58:44 11/07/02 Thu

Ooooooo.... A Cece post. Wait let me get my coffee!!! O.K.. First. Why in the WORLD are you up at 2 a.m.! Gack! And why don't you answer my IM's anymore? Has Mr. Bunny blocked me? ROTFLOL!!!! Cough... ANYWAY, the sub story. Yes. I think they DID do a good job with that, although I could barely watch it. I have a VERY hard time watching SUB stories, SPACE stories, stories of any kind where there is a question of running out of O2. Don't know why. My own personal phobia I guess. Just gives me the heeby jeebies and no matter how good the story .....1179 characters! LOL! INSIDE -- Luoodles would like to add that I am getting REALLY concerned (as Cece put in another post) that this is becoming a show about everyone EXCEPT H/M. Sigh., 10:04:32 11/07/02 Thu

Thank you Cece, and I love TPTB idea of Webb and Mac going undercover, some shipper potencial that I smell and bringing out some stand out performance for DJE I hope.Im sorry Im one of those who dont like this Bud storyline either.I just dont dig it and as Matt Roush from TV guide said its lack of inspiration from the writers and IA with him.Jag is too overpopulated too, sorry Im nervous for Manetti not just the accent but her acting, she seems not comfy in her role just like that new lawyer in L&O who replaced AngieM. Use those Jag invaders as props and none of their my dad and my Harvard life. (NT) -- Ruby (wants some steaminess for H&M, no harm in asking its season 8 folks), 12:26:08 11/07/02 Thu

To each her own, of course ..... but I've always seen "Bud" as one of the most fully realized characters on JAG and never in any way detracting from the "professionalism" of the office. Sure -- in the beginning his golly-gee UFO stuff wasn't exactly what one expects form a Navy lawyer .... but I found some of that stuff to be truly amusing and rather charming. I also think PL is doing an absolutely fabulous job with his challenging storyline ..... his "I've lost weight ..... finally" line was delivered just right. Very touchingly funny and poignant. (NT) -- MichelleB ( ... I've seeb "Bud" change and grow over the years .... I can't say the same for the gorgeous Commander.), 12:51:34 11/07/02 Thu

Michelle-- we at the Harmy Board ask on a daily basis to see the Commander "change and grow"....at least part of him (NT) -- manette, 13:08:21 11/07/02 Thu

ROTFLMAO! Trust manette to come up with the best possible response! LOLOLOL!!!! (NT) -- MichelleB, 13:44:05 11/07/02 Thu

GLA for manette's line on our commander. (NT) -- cece...LOLOL, 14:54:08 11/07/02 Thu

Michelle I don't dislike Bud, and I really liked him as the funny guy side-kick. Yes he is the only one who has had a chance to "grow", and that is my complaint. We know ALL about Bud's life and family and marital problems...both monetary and sexual. This is focus on one character who has never been the major charater, is so lopsided. I'd expect this much detail only for the main characters, around whom the show was built. I totally agree Harm hasn't grown. He isn't even in the show any more, other than as a cut out character...along with the other cut outs. -- Cece waiving to Michelle and manette..., 13:40:44 11/07/02 Thu

Yes, my friend; I think you are projecting. Just a tad! LOL!! And I now have this mental picture of dear Brit Tart Cecilia standing up straight & tall & shouting - "Give me SEX!!" LOL! But seriously -- I think they've been very circumspect in alluding to sex/sexual attractiveness as regards Bud in particular & amputees in general. Basically, I like to watch good drama; and for me, the Harriet/Bud story - dealing iwth troubles/getting closer has been way more interesting/engaging than the "cut-out characters" of the main protagonists. (NT) -- MichelleB (on the lookout for some sheer erotic pleasure of her own! Hmmm! LOL!), 13:52:44 11/07/02 Thu

OH HECK...I didn't put INSIDE after that paragraph. Please go inside if you want to read more rivetting comments....LOL. Inside the above response I mean. (NT) -- Cece...feeling a bit dopey today., 13:53:31 11/07/02 Thu

Hmmmm Michelle, you must be smart. You didn't need the istructions to go inside...LOL. Hey you want good drama? Why didn't you say so? .............big space of delayed comment.......................................... Er..cough....ahem...we are talking about JAG here are we not? LOL. (NT) -- Cece...being a smart6, 14:02:12 11/07/02 Thu

Yes ....yes ....yes ..... "JAG" and "good drama" rarely go hand-in-hand ....... unfortunately ,....... which is why I particularly am enjoying the Bud story .... because I find it to BE "good drama". I'm not exactly sure what they will be doing with him in each ep (although I'm opretty darn sure he & Harriet will come out all right in the end ...) ----- unlike OTHER aspects of JAG --- the formulaic hero-always-wins/but-is-a-lonely-lone-wolf jazz. I take my "good drama" where I can get it! And lately, that's been Bud. (NT) -- MichelleB (who really tinks taht MOST people DO know that if there's no "(NT)", there's more "inside" ..... so don't sweat it! LOL!), 14:21:12 11/07/02 Thu

Yowza!! I'm now a member of the majority!! (NT) -- Carrotts, that takes care of my learning one new thing for today., 15:05:12 11/07/02 Thu

GLA--Animal Kingdom!!! (NT) -- GLA, 15:13:34 11/07/02 Thu
