Well .......... it was what it was ......... which was, for me, rather entertaining ................

........ but not an ep I'd make any effort to catch in reruns.

Sure --- they were going for the whole tie-JAG-into-every-Christmassy-cliche/reference/whatever-they-could-think-of.

Some of it *was* cute ..... and affecting .....

I particularly enjoyed Terry O'Quinn [I *think* I have his name right!] as Adm. Boone. He was totally terrific as usual. I found his remembering Harm Sr.'s last flight to be very moving. As was the whole Harm-gives-his-wings-to-the-young-guy thing.

Harriet's pregnancy wasn't much of a surprise.

Mary & Joseph and the baby were pushing it ..... as were the three "wise men" .... but it was nice & low-key and we weren't subjected to the usual labor & delivery scene -- which was a GOOD thing, IMHO. A nice touch? AJ actually looking as if he DID deliver a baby! Unlike with Harriet, THIS go 'round his uniform was a bit worse for the wear afterwards!

Tiner was his usual adorably semi-clueless self.

What *was* a surprise? Meredith can actually DO something well! Although, many of us have maintained that AJ must have found her talented in at least ONE area already!

Harm's whole danger-in-the-air thing? Rather ho-hum. I mean, come on --- after Adrift I&II it was hardly likely they'd actually have him get into REAL trouble. And unlike Adrift I&II, I was NOT on the edge of my seat. But then, I most probably wasn't SUPPOSED to be.

One thing I really didn't like? Mac acting like a worried wifey. Most of you know I'm not any kind of shipper. But it's more than that. It's Mac being so VERY openly concerned about Harm .... and yes -- they are good friends and even if she had NOT told Sturgis (and US! LOL!) that she's in love with Harm, one could reasonably expect her to be concerned over her friend .......

But I just find it unsatisfying to have Mac so .... so .... so **INVESTED** in Harm when HE has not been depicted as being nearly (if at all) as invested in HER. I know some will disagree and will have seen all kinds of evidence of HIS being every bit as connected to her as she (in my view) has been depicted as being .... as considering herself .... connected to HIM. I just do NOT see it.

Oh --- and I think they went over-the-top and *I* found it really stupid ... when they did the Bud-as-Tiny-Tim thing at the very end. I groaned and wanted to throw something at the TV. Unlike the other bits, for me, it was NOT "cute". Holding up his crutch and "God Bless us every one". Sheesh!

p.s. I thought the "put your eye out" thing with little AJ was cute. ALL the references were a little bit cute .... EXCEPT for the Tiny Tim one (IMHO) ...... but all in all, for me, a rather unsatisfying ep. Sure -- it was supposed to be funny, but I just found them trying too hard.

And -- sorry -- but Mac's hair at the party looked horrific! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!! I canNOT understand how anyone can find that kind of chopped off style attractive! I must be entering old fogeydom! LOL! She's so very beautiful ... but with that hair --- LOL --- she looks more like one of us! LOLOLOL!!!
