Date Posted: 14:53:39 10/18/02 Fri This afternoon I was ejected from a local playground since, as I was told, metal detectors are not allowed there because in the past some detectorists used to dig many holes. Even although I was on the sand area, and I was not using trowels or scoops (only bare hands to collect coins, ect.) I was asked to leave. Then I came home and did a web search on Miami Parks and recreations department and learned that use of metal detectors was not allowed in their parks and playgrounds. Well, I know I should've asked before, my mistake! But what really bugs me is that, after asking in several local forums about TH, I received many responses telling me that this activity was allowed. I would like to read your opinions, and at the same time warn other users about this situation. I wonder if it is a Miami FL only prohibition or if it happens in other areas too. And I wish that the big 4 USA metal detector manufacturers could help us and help himselves fighting this irrational policy. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
