Date Posted: 20:21:27 06/26/02 Wed My son Jonathan and I went to the WPB Coin Club meeting tonight... It was great. First off there were individuals that arrived early and setup their coins for sale. So we had time to talk and look through their goodies. There were some great deals there. By participating in the meeting we each received a ticket for a door prize. Then additionally bought 3 raffle tickets for $1 for some proof sets that would be given away. Look at the image below.... My son won an 1856 Seated Dime and a 1862 Indian Head Penny I won a 1962 proof set. Then to top it off, the club has an auction at the end of every meeting, where they auction off about 50 lots of coins... I bid and won the 1731 Neterlands Coin for $2.50 A family membership only costs $10, they meet 2 times a month and have several huge club dinners for all the members each year and refreshments each meeting. I highly recommend it to anyone involved in detecting and coins. The Coin Club meets the 2nd and 4th wednesdays of the month at 7pm. But many arrive and setup their coins from 5pm till 7pm. Then there is a Coin Show they put on at the end of every month on Sunday at the Knights of Columbus hall I believe on Congress north of Forest Hill across from the flea market.
