Seems you sorta know what you ARE doing NOW ! But...any advice might make the Hunt more interesting . I find that setting the Sensitivity at halfway mark rejects hotel alarm systems and saltwater static, a bit. Discrim , should be no higher than (1) on the dial . You don't want to block out the Deep / Small Gold . Volume is set at 1/3 level , low , to save battery. Threshold set to almost no sound...same reason It may take 2 or three months to recognize the exact sounds of Gold/U.S.nickels , Bottel caps , silver / coins. The fun part of this hobby is Not Knowing what ya got till you reel in your Scoop or handfan the sand. When you hit a target listen to the sound 5 times , then put the sound together with the item. Recognition comes with time , luck comes with location, and lost jewelry just keeps coming every weekend ! Good Hunting , Good Weather , Smooth Seas !
