Date Posted: 20:07:00 06/17/02 Mon **Kylee walked into the house. "Mom?" she called. No one answered. "Hmmm, that's weird." Kylee said to herself. Her mom was usually home. She walked into Alana's office. Her mom was sitting at her desk. "Mom, are you working again?" she asked. Alana turned and said, "Yes, it sucks doesn't it?" Kylee nodded. Then after thinking she said, "Come on mom. We're going on a trail ride." "Oh really?" Alana said joking. She thought a second and said, "Good bye labtop!" She jumped up and said, "Let's go!" They raced down the stairs with their puppies snipping their ankles. They jumped into their jeep and drove to FC. When they got there, they drove down to KDS. Alana parked the car and said, "Okay, who do you want to ride?" "Well, I rode with Jessie earlier and I rode Stormy." Kylee said. "Well, how did he ride?" Alana asked anxiously. Kylee laughed, "He has the smoothest gaits ever!" she said. Alana smiled and said, "Great! That means I get him!" They both starting laughing. Kylee agreed that her mom could ride Stormy, as long as she could ride Masi. Her mom groomed the bay, morgan, gelding. Then she tacked him up and lead him to the front of the barn. Kylee did the same with the light bay, quarter horse, mare. They both started down the trail, side by side. They chatted for an hour and stopped at the lake. The horses looked at it will a longing expression. "Wanna go in?" Alana asked. "Sure!" Kylee replied anxiously. They untacked the horses and rode bareback into the lake. The horses swam in tight circles and figure eights, enjoying the water on the hot june day. The day was around 95' degrees! The horses and girls were tired and hot. "We should head back now." Alana said. Alana and Kylee put the saddles on their laps as they rode the horses bareback back to the barn. "I had fun. Thank you for rescueing me from my office work." Alana said with a gratfull tone. "No problem mom." Kylee said. The bathed, groomed, and let their horses out in the pasture together. Alana & Kylee walked back to their jeep and drove home.
