Subject: The "New" Worst Witch

I've just watched the first episode of the new series on CITV and frankly I'm very disapointed. The show is just not the same without Mildred; we did see her briefly at the beginning but it doen't look like she'll be in any further episodes. Alice Connor, who plays Mildred's cousin, Henrietta Hubble seems a capable young actress but lacks the charm of Georgina Sherrington,and Caroline O'Neil is just no substitute for Kate Duchene as HB. The music (one of the best features of the original series) seemed very uninspired and the plot was rather predictable and lacklustre too. I'm not sure if I want this series to be a success ot not; if it is a hit then the producers may continue on the same lines but if it's a flop ITV might be reluctant to show any more repeats of the original three series, There are still three episodes from the third series I Havn't seen. Altogether, I've not been so depressed since Weirdsister College was cancelled.
Never mind, I'll watch a few episodes of the REAL Worst Witch to cheer myself up.
