Subject: I'll try and answer as much as I can at once..

Ahem. First off, I'd like to thank ya'll for yer support in this. In addition, I'm also going to submit a mock-up idea of the concepts to a student organization or two-- a college campus has more available resources than an actual game design company if you know how to look.

Things we need to do..in no particular order yet:

1)Financing: At the least, we need to find out exactly how we get one of the companies such as MPlayer or other such to let us use their machines for online access. Though I don't predict going online with this being any sooner than maybe two years or more from now, its good to have the policies in mind during production.

2)Gameplay: I personally have not yet made a hard preference for the view format, excepting that I don't think a first-person shooter-like view would work except maybe as an option (being able to choose views would be quite a nice feature.). The screen itself is also up for full debate; we need to figure out what's important to have available. The size of the sprites is another issue, as is the actual style of them (anime-like, realistic, stylized, etc). I'll also remind that the 'combat functions' are a secondary concern, while getting the format itself working comes first. When and if a stat system is chosen, it may be something between Dungeons and Dragons and the even more point-based systems of White Wolf and other more recent RP systems. I agree that we need to toss in a few monsters to bash, though I'd like to keep the unrealistic habit of players to spend hours killing monsters for no reason other than to gain levels and power over other characters. Further, if adventure classes can gain levels, I beleive that there should be a method for non-adventurers to do so. A blacksmith who manages to get half the business in town should get additional awards for doing so. (To be blunt, I find NPCs to be a bit tedious sometimes).

3)The history of the culture is something I personally have started work on, though moreso in the ancient timeframe to explain in a near-scientific way why the animals have risen into an obviously human-like race. I've also begun to make an explanation for the 'great evils' of the world, though like everything else, I'll need help with it. So far I've managed a concept with the beloved RP concept of "Dark Elves". Based on the history of the elves and how I've peiced it together so far, dark elves would be an example of femanism taken too far (For those unaware, dark elf society via AD&D treats the much smaller males as rubbish).

4) Alternative worlds are something I agree needs attention, especially since most of you are viewing this after playing SMT MUCK. If we can get the server space, I see no reason not to develop sci-fi and alternative fantasy worlds. Those who are especially prone to sci-fi and such, or perhaps share a wholy different view on the fantasy genre, I encourage writing up those ideas in as much detail as possible for future use. Fair warning, however, as it stands I'm focusing on the fantasy world setting, due to experiance, and personal preferance. Again, I remind, if it becomes a success, and we can get together enough server space to run more than one 3D realm, further genres will be the perfect way to fill it.

Again, thanks to you all for your support, I can be reached at lee_jona@hotmail.com for now, though for public access this board is usually the best way to deal with information. If you are willing, please leave your emails and specialities on the board so Drackyn can put them together in a contacts database for the sake of organization. Thank you, and be free.
