Subject: Very long, but worth the read in my opinoin ^_^

Okay, first off I should probably introduce myself, but I'll do that in the paragraph after this one below.
About 2 years ago I thought of making a MUD to go with a furry based role play system I had. After going through alot of trouble, I gave up. Then I started 3D animation and modeling and it struck me that there should really be some sort of Furry based enviroment. At first I thought of a simple world set in a medevil style background. I aimed to allow people to choose how and what they would do, making it so that they would have a single character, describe it, and have it moddeld. The plan I had to make it more "role playish" than other games, was to simply allow people to edit wireframes and assign them to a key say. Like a little program that allowed you to view the wire frame movements for walking, and customise it for yourself and your unique character. The concept would add allot of flavour, and allow most /ma and /a action commands to be acctually done. More things flowed from my over active imagination. Soon I had a reasonably complete plan to work from. Giving the player more freedom over their own character is one thing lacking in allot of Role play games. With 3D worlds, you have a huge world, with verious simulated laws (gravity etc) that would take into effect depending on changes. Say if someone walked passed and swung their arms out. Instead of either stopping at, or going through a mug on the table for instance, it would fall off, roll away. The thing that hasn't been done is a realistic world enviroment. The only problem is designing an engine to handle it. It is simplified by making a small world at first, then throwing in characters to work out how stuff will react (basic alphas stuff). Once a working interactive world had been made, and speach and movement capabilities had been done, you have your skeleton. Once one area is perfected then it is easyer to expand into a game with a "goal". even if the goal is just fowarding your character, all games need that goal. Of course I favoured a medevil setting as I said, though I liked the idea of being able to evolve characters. Say later the possibilitys of planetary travel became active. Maybe by magic. More diversity.
Okay I'll shut up for a while on my little dream. Needless to say I'm still mucking around with ideas when I came across this site through SMT and suddenly became very happy. I like to call myself Lore, most of my friends do so it seems the best idea. I work in roleplay, furry art and 3D design. not sure what else I can add to that. take the above bit as a brain storm so to speak. I'd much rather help you with your overall plan and possibly sacrifice some of my ideas than work it alone, and more to the point this is something most important, and having two, probablly vwery differant, doesn't fit into the theme of things. You see, Furry art and culture is not well known. Not in the real world. Comics are heard of, but not able to get hold of. Unfourtunatly I'm having to repeat what someone else kindly put up, that I can't refin (d'oh) but incase I'm as incoherant as usual, see if you can find it at http://furry.de/miavir/
The point being that there are ALOT of furry fans, but not so much connection between them. Comics and art are very popular, but getting ahold of them is near impossible. The point made was that there where many good furry publications no one heard about, that some people only ever DID hear about because they were friends with the creator. In the rare cases you do find a furry comic, usually very dusty, there maybe another advert, for another comic, very good, that was discontinued due to lack of intrest. The sad thing being that if people knew of it, I have no doubt there would be intrest. Advertising is obviously a problem, but ther is no solve all answer. There is an obvious black in the pipe between creators of fur related thingies and those that want, fur related thingies. Now this is going no were to explain exactly what Imean, and I will take more time at a later date, but for now:
This idea is one that may have been thought of before, but it has never been done. In any context. If you can create something that is, in effect, a text based MUD, that is a fun and hopefully realistic enivroment, with the same diversity that can be created, it will bring the word Furry to mean something.
Being the first of its kind, it instantly has notice, being able to roleplay takes in a huge proportion of the computer players, having a game engine mixed in, widens it even more. A reasonable game will get coverage, other sites wanting more hits, will do reviews on it, as it is new. What esentially will happen (has happend before to other geners) is a recognisably furry product will become wide spread. More people will cross over groups, the large amounts of Furry groups will realise there are others in existance, companys will sponsor, and try to get in on it. Publications and comics of Furry nature would suddenly becom a worth while investment for publishers. You get the drift. Yes it sounds optomistic, but its pretty much what happens if something is done well.
Now... the real question
Can we do that? Yeah its possible, but it takes time. my orriginal thoughts went to designing and creating the chat mode and releasing it as an alpha, bringing in intrest. A large selection of people would go into intergrating a game engine, testing etc. Those people would get the actual game for free say. The finished game would cost. Even if not much, it would need to to get the recognition.

Once again an "I know statement"
that I'm prolly getting over zealous, and that this only intends to be a small thing. But at least you know there are people who are willing to give this, and the big picture a go at.

As such, either way I'd like to join the effort along with a few design friends of mine, all experianced gamers and roleplayers not to mention mostly good writers. More than willing to help and work with this project as I said before, even if it means not being able to go with the ideals of my orriginal Idea.

Though I'd higly suggest for the end result to allow switching between 3rd person and 1st for the game engine side. the idea of PKing should be more of a flag that says hey I'm allowing myself to be killed and to kill players, but have it more as a request so that it isn't something you can turn on and off in a fight. finally on this little last random fray, I think medevil would be a best bet to start with, allot of furrys like that, and even if not, you can always have multiple worlds, maybe having an easy way to travel between or have characters on each or something.

Lore, the talking man.
any questions or things that need clarification or explination please just say, I know how bad my grammar is ;)
