I've found that using therabands really helps. They strengthen your feet and arches. As far as not having flexible feet, what you really need to do is stretch, stretch, stretch!!! A good stretch is to lie down on the floor and have someone gently press down on the area right above the toes. Don't bend your knees or the stretch won't work. Hope this helps!
