The bay mare, One for Sorrow, stood with the other mares for a moment on the sandy beach as Celtic Storm raced through the humans to save the horse that they were mistreating. She shifted uneasily upon her hooves, unsure if she should help or stay back.
With sudden courage, Sorrow neighed and dashed toward Celtic. She hardly knew what she was doing! She'd heard stories of humans, how they wouldn't think twice before killing another being, even of their own kind or how some would take wild ones and make them tame. What was she doing?!
Before hitting the humans, she slowed, sand swooshing around her as she came to a halt. What was she doing? Celtic could be another that those humans decided to kill or tame. He'd need help. She could see how they were and it sickened her.
Again she started up, dashing toward them until she met up with Celtic. Sorrow slowed again, unsure what to do now that she was there, surrounded by humans,
"Celtic... Celtic lets go!" she pleaded, her eyes looking about her nervously. One human neared her and she kicked out with her forearms, hoping to get it away from her. The mistreated horse was now galloping away to safety, "He's safe, Celtic, lets leave them be!"
