Walking proudly across the higher plautue, a proudly stubborn red dun stallion continued on across the land, ignoring the mare behind him.
The two of them had reached the island after swimming tiresomely across the sea a few hours before the humans had arrived. Ever since, Desert Sunrise had stayed on top of that higher elevated plain, not wanting to become active with these humans, like his herd had the year before. It still boiled his blood. He had worked long and hard to construct such a herd and now all his mares and his foals, most of them, anyway, were either scattered about, killed, or taken by those damned humans and made into pets. He snorted angerly as he continued on, hoping to reach the horses by the time the humans were well out of sight.
