What is the source of your energy that it should be lacking? If you realize that all is One, the One being infinite and undiminished and you being part of the One, you will realized that diminished energy is but illusion. Our own illusions are the souce of our suffering.
As your friend is Moslem, I offer you this wisdom from the Islamic Sufi philosopher Jalaluddin Rumi, "For those who realize that everything is from God, everything is the same. Everyone knows God's Gentleness and everyone knows God's Severity. Everyone flees from His Severity and holds fast to His Gentleness. But God has hidden severities within Gentleness and gentleness within Severity. This is God's trickery, concealment, and deception, in order that the people of discernment -- those who see with the light of God -- may be separated from those who see only the present and outward situation. That He might try you, which of you is fairest in works (Koran 67:2)." The Bodhidharma says it thusly, "A buddha is someone who finds freedom in good fortune and bad. Such is his power that karma can't hold him. No matter what kind of karma, a buddha transforms it. Heaven and hell are nothing to him. But the awareness of a mortal is dim compared to that of a buddha, who penetrates everything, inside and out."
My advice to you therefore is to cultivate the infinite awareness of the One, the Tao, or whatever you wish to call the Divine. With that awareness you will be beyond the illusions of misfortune.
Blessings,
Wallace
