waarom toch steeds die leegte hier
die mij vertelt dat ik iets mis
die soms ineens mijn hart bevriest
en dat men dan vraagt wat er is
dat ik niet eens vertellen kan

de woorden zijn mij even vreemd
waarom toch steeds die leegte hier
die mij omringt, mijn hoop ontneemt
waarom toch steeds die stilte hier
alsof er iets zou moeten zijn
iets wat de ruimte vullen moet
en me verlossen van de pijn
die ik soms niet verwerken kan
en daardoor liever maar vergeet
waarom toch steeds die stilte hier

ik denk dat ik het antwoord weet
