Greece: To Vima weekly newspaper run an interview with Macedonian opposition leader Branko Crvenkovski

Athens, - “The citizens of Macedonia are very disappointed with Ljubco Georgievski’s government. The nation-wide discontent with government’s policy was reflected in high voter turnout rate noted in September 10th municipal elections. The unified opposition garnered a majority of national vote”, Makfax news agency quotes the Head of opposition Social-Democratic Union (SDSM) Branko Crvenkovski as saying in an interview for Greek To Vimia weekly newspaper.

Greek To Vima newspaper writes that SDSM Chairman and former Prime Minister Branko Crvenkovski has a moderate stance regarding Greek investments in Macedonia and Athens’ policy over Skopje.

The municipal elections were marred same as the presidential elections, Crvenkovski said, adding that ethnic Albanian voters in Macedonia were treated as second-class citizens. They have been deprived from their right to vote, the abridge of rights is a problem encountered by the citizens of Macedonia, Crvenkovski told Athens’ To Vima newspaper.

Macedonia’s shortest way to Euro-Atlantic structures passes through Greece, SDSM Chairman said, adding that the current government could not take Macedonia closer to the European Union or NATO without democracy and stability. Crvenkosvki presumes that Macedonia will preserve its stability provided that the ruling coalition faced election defeat. Destabilisation could be triggered by gerrymandering i.e. by non-democratic and unfair elections.

Huh? If I remember correctly it was SDSM who played the anti-Albanian card to win the election before (which they lost). What a liar, as if anyone would believe one word of this man. His name is Crvenkovski and he speaks of democracy? He could just as well be called "Stalinovski".

What a joke.
