The camera fades in on the waiting room at Cedars Sinai Medical Center Emergency Room. The camera slowly moves through the crowd of doctors and nurses scurrying about. It finally focuses in on a large black man sitting with his head in his hands. A man in green surgical scrubs walks over to him.

{Doctor} “Mr. Dante?”

The large man pops his head up as if he had just been stuck with a needle.

{Noah} “Yeah. What’s the news? Is he ok?”

{Doctor} “Hi. I’m Doctor Jennings. Well, I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that Mr. Sinister sustained multiple, near fatal injuries in the motorcycle accident. Both of his legs are broken, his left wrist has been shattered, he has three broken ribs, one of which has severely bruised one of his lungs. There was a small amount of internal bleeding, but we managed to get it stopped before any real damage inside was done. He is going to be in a great deal of pain, but with rehab and intense physical therapy, he should not have any long term effects from those injuries.”

The look on Noah’s face goes from concerned to confused.

{Noah} “What do you mean THOSE injuries?”

{Doctor} “Well, that’s the bad news. See, when the motorcycle flipped, Cyrus landed on his side first, which caused his lower left back and side to take the brunt of the impact. When this happened, he suffered a severe trauma to his kidney on that side. In fact, it has completely shut down. Now, thanks to the blood you donated, we were able to analyze it and we believe you are a perfect match. I’m not going to candy coat it. This is a potentially fatal injury, and without a transplant, I’m afraid there isn’t much more we can do but and hope a kidney becomes available. I hate to be asking this of…”

{Noah} “What do I have to sign? You have to understand, Doc. This guy is the only family I have, and I am his. Whatever it takes to get it done, let’s do it.”

{Doctor} “There are several forms we need to fill out, and then we will get you prepped. You will be in recovery for a few days, so you may want to make any arrangements you need to right now. I’ll be right back.”

The doctor walks off and Noah pulls out his cell phone. He paces as he waits for an answer. Finally someone picks up.

{Voice} “Hello?”

{Noah} “Nate, wake up, It’s Noah”

{Nate} “Man, do you know what time it is? ”

{Noah} “Nate, shut up. I’m still at the hospital. This is gonna sound really strange, but I am gonna give Cy a kidney. Call Fury and tell him that we won’t be back. Ever. This is it. I didn’t really expect my career to end this way, but Cy is the closest to blood I got, and I have to do this. I will call you in a few days and let you know how things went.”

{Nate} “Ok, I’ll do it right now. Good luck.”

{Noah} “Nate…thanks for everything. If we don’t make this, you take care of your…”

{Nate} “Noah, you’ll be just fine. I’ll be up in the morning to check on you guys. I WILL see you then, ok. Now go handle your business.”

{Noah} “Thanks Nate. See you then.”

Noah hangs up as the camera fades.
