Sorry for my delay feedback...cause I'm not familiar with the format of display of this forum and I haven't check in fact there's kindly address from you weeks before!

Back to you point.I totally agree with you.The alternative takes add bounes to the reissue(at least not just like some remastering of same cd with better audio sounds!).In fact you draw me to think about the value of "live version".

To me, there's no obscession to have live version of performance. Every take in studio or in any festival holds it's own value. For master like John Coltrane, every bit may leds us to reconstruct him musical sense, how he derived to that point, what were the turns and twists in the middle. It's simply a matter for eager listener to search for some meaning behind the music and approach the mind of the superstarin his/her heart.

Shepp is one of those Free Jazz and Hard Bop figure. He earns his fame probably in the early 60's and 70's with contribution to the aggressive tenor sax sound.Trane was said to be his mentor and that fit the true as both of them give the tenor energy of no substitution. I would recommend you to try his "Four for Trane" which is basically a disc of some coltrane's composition. Trane was the producer of the record himself(he really "guide" the guy)and let Shepp play his tenor hard! Yet there maybe some difficulty to find cd issue like this in HK.

Again, sorry for the "brady-reply" from me.

Just to say that the 2CD reissue costs $310 in HMV and still needs a few days to come to the territory for the "shipping"
