My impression of the album was a little different. As far as the music goes, I thought it was a lot like Fold Zan (esp Kingplanet) and hardly anything like Mortal.

I thought the songs were good, but not great. The more i listened to them the more I got this feeling that something was missing, but I cant quite put my finger on what it was.

My impression of album wasn't "dark" at all, but the opposite. A lot of the songs are pretty upbeat, and some could almost be classified as rock worship songs.
While most of it is pretty good, I dont think its quite as cutting edge or innovative as some of thier other work.

I noticed the lyrics were different than Mortal or Fold Zan, favoring obvious Christian themes as opposed to the more poetic analogies as in a lot of Fold Zan songs (hence, the rock worship song comparison).

Anyway, thats my 2 cents. Its a good CD, not the best, but still good. Its probably worth buying if you are a fan of their other stuff, but dont expect it to be just like Mortal or Fold Zan.
