You mean Zero 7 is Airish, since Air did it first.

Let's be honest about it, at least... even if you like Zero 7 better.

I like them both about the same but for different reasons. Air is a little more raw and experimental (or WAS, I don't think Air is doing anything anymore). Zero 7 is a little more radio friendly and smooth.

Technically, Air is probably more inventive but the strangeness of some of their stuff puts off some people. You can't bust out Air at a party without at least some of the people going "What the fuck is this?", especially people who listen to a lot of mainstream pop, r&b.

But you could pull it off with Zero 7 and in the process, expanding the horizons of a few people who never heard this kind of stuff.

Air was a bit ahead of their time, which is ironic, since a lot of their components are really retro-ish.
