Hi,

Some seem to see very well. I've also had one who seemed a bit short-sighted. Can I ask how your boy is bred?

You should also be aware that we seem to have a problem with hereditary predisposition to closed angle glaucoma in some lines.

I would recommend getting an eye specialist to check your boy out. Tell him about the potential glaucoma problem and ask for a gonioscopy. This is an examination of the structure of the eye. The dog doesn't need to be knocked out but will need to tolerate the vet shining a bright light into his eyes in a darkened room.

Glaucoma is very painful and needs immediate medical treatment if it develops. It's therefore worth checking whether there is a predisposition IMO.

hth
Lucinda
