John, breeds were developed by selection for certain traits and characteristics within the available gene pool.
(Wouldn't have been anything else to cross the original wolves with).
As selection became more and more selective certain groups of dogs came to resemble each other to the degree that they became known as some particular breed. Without writing an encycopedia here just accept that "good" pit bulls and "good" Boerboels have some things in common and quite a few very important differences. (I bred "good" pit bulls long before I ever discovered Boerboels). I can't think of a singe thing a Boerboel could add to a "good" pit bull that would be an improvement over what is wanted in a "good" pit bull. I can think of several major shortcomings they could impart (as far the pit bull breeders were (are) trying for.
In the same vien, a "good" Boerboel will not be improved in any way by anything the pit bull could add.
As Damian said, this cross would not be an improvement for either breed and would detract from the qualities desired in either breed.
